Both Master of computer applications (MCA ) and Master of Science in information technology (MSc IT) are two year post graduate degree courses.

MCA is designed mainly to prepare graduate students for productive careers in government sector, software industry, etc. whereas M.Sc IT is designed mainly to produce technically competent, self motivated and highly productive professionals to meet the growing demand of an ever changing market of the global IT industry.

MCA provides students with thorough, in-depth and sound background in theoretical and application-oriented courses as well as emphasizes the application of software technology to solve defence related, mathematical, networking, computing and commercial problems by utilizing advance networking technologies and application software whereas M.Sc IT is a professional qualification in IT, which grooms not only IT professionals, but also experts from other domains providing a unique and comprehensive programme.

The broad objective of MCA programme is to produce a dynamic breed of computer professionals having excellent managerial skills whereas the primary aim for M.Sc IT is to provide graduates with appropriate practical knowledge, skills, and understanding for managing IT use, change and development.

Since you are pursuing your B.Sc Mathematics it is better to go for MCA rather than M.Sc IT.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
