Re: Possibility for leteral entry into B.E. or B.Tech?
There are many specialization in engineering. They are such as Computer Science and Engineering,Electronics and Communications Engineering,Information Technology,Civil Engineering,Mechanical engineering,Nanotechnology,Food Technology,Electrical and Electronic engineering,Electrical engineering and more.
Duration of the B.Tech Lateral entry program is of the 3 years. The lateral entry is of the semester system. For this to get admission lateral to B.Tech the minimum qualification required is just Diploma in engineering. So the stream may be of any kind, but must have done 3 years after 10th class. So for this generally B.Sc Non medical as well as Computer Science degree graduates are equivalent. The minimum percentage you must have obtained is as 50% marks in Academics. For this to be eligible for getting admission, you must have to write Entrance examination. So the admission are done only on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. So the duration of the Diploma course are of 3 years that means total of Six Semesters. So soon after completion of B.E/B.Tech you can find many number of good job opportunities in your field.Even then if you are still interested, you can then go for the Masters degree, getting in to the Research and development field. So the prerequisite for getting in to B.E/B.Tech you can with the Diploma course in engineering. The program we can call as Lateral Entry Program. |

Re: Possibility for leteral entry into B.E. or B.Tech?
Lateral Entry is an effective scheme to allow the diploma candidates pursue their higher studies with any loss of year. Through this scheme, diploma passed candidates can directly take admission in the second year of engineering course, BE/B.Tech course. They can take admission directly in the third semester. The admission is done purely on the scores secured by the candidates in the Lateral Entry Test conducted in every state and private universities.
Since you are pursuing post graduation, so you can get directly admission in the second year of engineering through lateral entry scheme if you have done diploma and have secured 50%. You need to qualify in the LEET exam to get admission in good colleges. |
