Acharya Nagarjuna University Centre for Distance Education-M.Sc in Botany 2nd Year-Cell Biology and Molecular Biology Papers are aimed to test the fundamental knowledge of the students in this subject. Questions will be divided into long and short answer ones. The latter shall include questions on topics like short notes on principles of light microscopy, fluid mosaic model, IS elements, Lysosomes, overlapping genes, frame shift mutations, Hershey and Chase experiments and so on. Longer questions worth more marks can be asked on topics like Apoptosis, role of vacuoles in plants, membrane structures of a chloroplast, the kind of proteins which are called G proteins and their role in signal transduction, the basic differences between bacteria conjugation and transduction, evolution of the gene concept, the regulation of genes in eukaryotes and so on. This section is more conceptual requiring depth of study and thorough knowledge.
