Electrical Technology is a sub-division of the B.Tech course pursued for a period of 3 years. This paper is similar to electrical engineering whereby students are trained to construct and use electrical tools by knowing the basics of electricity, power and wiring systems. The focus of the subject is on the technologies that go into the making of the equipments and appliances. The basic skills are developed in students with the help of prolonged sessions in practical teaching and academic training. Though Delhi University is known for all its subjects of humanities where field survey is the watchword, it is also good for its extensive practical training for subjects in the science category. The theory components of electrical technology that are considered academically are energy sources, and structural components of power transmission systems, DC networks, AC circuits, magnetic circuits, transformers, induction motors, DC machines, and measuring instruments with their functional phases.
