Potti Sreeramulu Telegu University is one of the unique Universities which have Jyothisham in their M.A. curriculum. History of Astrology is the first paper in the M.A. Jyothisham course. The subject is a bit of off-track from the regular studied subjects. Basically history of astrology, its origin, astronomy as science, early astronomy – earth and sky, renaissance astronomy and beyond – the earth in space, the rise of the telescope, the role of instrumentation in astronomical advance, the astronomical zoo – objects and classification systems, astrophysics, radio astronomy, cosmology, impact of space exploration on astronomy etc. are covered in the question paper. It’s one of the theoretical subjects in the Masters level Jyothisham branch. The subject can be well prepared if there is related search made on net and books by famous astrologists should be read thoroughly to know what it is and how it came into existence. History of Astrology is a descriptive paper with questions of 10 and 15 marks. 15 marks questions are placed in first group and 10 marks ones are placed in second group.
