It includes introduction to art, artists branches, history of art (indian, global), types of art, elements and principles for understanding art and craft, craftsmen, paintings, types, sculptures, renaissance art, properties of visual language, types of print making, impressionism, recent developments in indian art, modern materials and techniques used in art, birth of modern art, print making, contributions of various artists (Picasso, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, M.F Husain).

Paper Pattern:Question paper consists of two part A and B. In part A, 8 questions will be given and no choice is provided and each question carries 4 marks. In part B, 8 questions will be asked with alternative choice, out of which 4 should be answered. Each question carries 12 marks on its head. All are subjective type and may be subdivided.

Time allotted and Maximum Marks:Duration of the exam is 3 hours and the maximum marks allotted are 80.

Key Points:A straight away question will be asked from the contributions of artist. History or art both indian (pre-independence and post-independence) and global should be well concentrated.
