How can I recover so that I'm on par with other people at the same level of education?

I couldn't study well and thus ended up with a poor score card. The reasons behind it is not the topic of discussion. The purpose of my opening this post is to explore what options I have with me, now that I've messed up really bad. Though I know I can never get over this unless I make something big in life but now is the time to recover.

The situation is something like this. I'm about to complete my B.Tech ECE next year but with a score that is not accepted anywhere. I'm falling short of a point on a 10-point scale. And as you know most companies require that you score at least a 6.0 GPA I don't know if its the end of road for me(as far as the engineering line is concerned).

I've no problems re-building a career from scratch but the here's the thing: How can I recover so that I'm on par with other people at the same level of education ? I know I'm totally messed up but is there a way out ?

Whether there is or not, please don't hesitate to share your views on this.

And I'd like some mature replies as I'm battling with life at this point of time so please be serious.

Manu

It is nice to see that you have left your past and want to move further in your life by making the most out of the present to build a better future. Yes, you are right that most of the companies keep the eligibility of B.Tech course as 6 CGPA and since you have less than that so it will be difficult for you in the recruitment processes of various companies. However, this is not the end of the road for you. It is true that this B.Tech score will be an obstacle in your life in getting good opportunities in future yet it cannot completely restrict you for a good opportunity.

You have few options before you and you can choose any one of them.
- Prepare for GATE exam, score very good marks and crack the interview round to get job in the PSUs. Otherwise you can do M.Tech in top colleges and after that nobody will scratch their head because of your B.Tech course.
- Prepare for the exams and get job in government sectors like banks, post offices, etc.
- Pursue computer related courses in leading computer training institutes like NIIT and after that you can get job on the basis of performance in that course.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
