Details regarding education in India
From the Outset of Independence, India has looked quite positive on making it a developed nation. Back then, the industrial and all the other commercial progress remained pretty low. Education seemed to fill in the gaps, taking India to a higher level of employment and also adding a crescendo to the country’s progress. Education since then has fulfilled every need, through education people in India started getting more jobs, and the segregation of the different levels of employment was also possible.

There are more than 17600 colleges in India. There are 138 autonomous colleges in the country. Colleges are established by state government, universities and private agencies. Approximately 75% of the colleges are established by private agencies. Higher education can be pursued either as regular education or through distance learning programs. Regular education is for technical, medical, agriculture and general courses with each type divided into university level and college level. In addition, institutes of higher learning and research in science, technology, management, medicine, social sciences and humanities have the status of deemed universities or autonomous institutions and provide higher education.
