IAS Exam i.e Indian Administrative Exam
It is under Civil Service Exam conducted once in a Year by UPSC.To become an IAS Officer you have to crack Civil Service Exam.

Indian Administrative services is the administrative Civil services of Government of India.Actually Civil services examinations are conducted for the different respectable services like

1.Indian Police services

2.Indian Revenue services

3.Indian Foreign Services by the Union Public service commission of India.

For this exam ,you need to have bachelor's degree in any of your desired discipline from a recognized university .Interested candidates who are in final year are also allowed to apply for the exams.

The minimum age limit is 21 years and for general 30 is the upper age limit.If you belong to obc or sc/st then you will get relaxations in age three years to obc and five years to sc/st respectively.

You must be an Indian citizen.

The notifications for the Civil services examinations are generally out in the month of February and the last date of receiving application is in the month of March and preliminary examinations of it are conducted in May.

Main examinations are generally held in November.

So you can check the forms during the second month of the year at www.upsc.gov.in or in offline mode from post office.

This year civil services examinations dates are already over.

Civil services exam for 2013 is over. Selection process for IAS include prelims, mains, and interview. Prelims exam is usually conducted in the month of May. Notification for the exam can be expected 2-3 months before the conduct of the exam. Those who qualify prelims exam can appear for mains exam, which usually happens in the month of November.
