you can apply for NDa EXAMINATION after completion of 12 in PCM group with at least 60%.
the age limit for this exam is 16.5-19.
this exam is only for unmarried males.

You can apply for the National Defense Academy(NDA) exam which takes place twice in a year in the months of April and August..
The forms shall be availabe 1 month before the exams..

The minimum eligibility criteria for appearing in the NDA is :-

1) You should be a 12th pass-out with PCM as your subjects..

2) You should be within the age limit of 16.5-19 years

After 10th you can join Navy , but it will be better after +2 or graduation .

See the Indian Navy recruits the students according to their grade. There are generally four section in Indian Navy like :

1. Group - A
2. Group - B
3. Group - C
4. Group - D

Generally a candidate having minimum degree like you can join in the Group - D section. So initially you have to join in Group - D section.
The notification comes generally in December every year and there all the details are given like : how to apply, eligible criteria, website etc.

After completion of 10th you can not apply for NAVY...

For that you have to complete the 12th in science stream having physics, maths and chemistry...

After 12th you can go for NDA exam..
Through NDA exam you can join in NAVY..

You may apply for coast guard , sailor etc after 10th but I suggest you to complete your 12th with maths and physics to apply for NDA and in NDA you will be having better chances and you will directly become an officer in navy after clearing NDA.

after class 10th you can't join in the Navy.

minimum you have to do 12th then you can join NAVY.

and to join in the navy you have to give NDA exam.

eligibility criteria for the NDA exam are given below

>>minimum 12th science pass.

>>age limit is 16.5-19 years.

>>minimum 60% marks in 12th as well as phy, chem, math and English.

>>minimum height should 165 cm.

NOTE:-only male candidate are allow for the NDA exam.

If you want to join Indian Navy, you have to pass minimum class 12th. Yes you may join as lower grade staff right after class 10th, but it is recommended that you study your higher secondary and then get a class 1 officer sailor job in the Indian Navy.



So first of all you have to take up Science in your class 11th and Mathematics is a compulsory subject.

Once you pass out of your Class 12th, then you can apply for the NDA exam


NDA - National Defense Academy


The Basic Eligibility Criteria to sit for the NDA are :-


1. You should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized school or state board in India

2. Your age should be between 16.5 to 19 years.

3. Maths is compulsory for the Indian Navy and Air Force.


Now if you fulfill these, then you are able to sit for the NDA examination.


Thus once you clear the examination, you would be able to join the Indian Navy.


This year the NDA exam is scheduled on 15th April 2012.


You can apply next year, if you have valid age.

After 12th or after graduation you can join Indian Navy.As you are a diploma graduate then you are also very much eligible for Indian Navy.See you have to take information from different newspapers and websites when the vacancies of Navy will come and according to this you can apply.
You can also apply for NDA. There generally two examination are held for NDA, one is NDA-1 and another is NDA-2.You can also attempt both this two exam.
