Are there any PSU exams in which I can apply after scoring 60% marks in graduation?


i m an engineering graduate from a govt recognised university but i have secured less than 60% marks in graduation. Kindly let me know r there any psu exams i can apply for or any other govt job oppurtunities .

A minimum graduation degree is essential for attending the PSU exams. The PSU exams are conducted according to the type of post and vacancies that come about in different companies. PSU such as BHEL, BARC, ISRO, NTPC, BEL, MPB etc do conduct exams. Regarding the cut off percentage it may also vary from organizations and type of posts. For general category it’s around 60%-70%. In case of the reserved categories it is around 50%. Since you have scored less than 60% it may be difficult for you to attend the PSU exams except in special cases where in the cut off marks may differ.

PDIL (PROJECTS & DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA LTD)
General announcement period: June
Procedure: Written Test + Interview
Requirement: approx. 30-40 from every branch.
Percentage criteria: 60% (55% for SC/ST)
Written test: Consists of aptitude, few GK and technical. Very basic questions, but the competition is very high due to low intake. So, you have to perform really well.
Package: During training it will be Rs.23400 (at Noida) and Rs.23200 (at Baroda). After training of 1year, it would be increased to Rs.37100 (at Noida) and Rs.35200 (at Baroda).

BHEL (BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRONICS LTD)
General announcement: August
Procedure: Written Test + Interview
Requirement: approx. 400 for Mechanical.
Percentage criteria: 65% (55% for BHEL employees)
Written test: Consists of aptitude (120 questions) and technical (120 questions) and duration is 150mins. Scheme is +1/-(1/5) for correct and wrong answers.
Package: During training, it will be Rs.20600+DA+Allowances. After training, the package would be approx. Rs.8.5 lakhs CTC for Projects profile and approx. Rs.7.3 lakhs for Manufacturing or Power profile.

HPCL (HINDUSTAN PETROLEUM CORPORATION LTD)
General announcement: November
Procedure: Written Test + GD+Interview
Requirement: approx. 160
Percentage criteria: 60% (50% for SC/ST/PH)
Written test: Consists of aptitude (120 questions) and technical (50 questions) and duration is 120 mins.
Package: During training of 6months it will be Rs.33000 and on completion of training, it will be Rs.8 lakhs CTC.

BPCL (BHARAT PETROLEUM CORPORATION LTD)
General announcement: November
Procedure: Written Test + GD+Interview
Requirement: approx. 180 for Mechanical
Percentage criteria: 60% (50% for SC/ST/PH)
Written test:
Package: During training, it will be Rs.24900+DA+Allowances. After training, the package would be approx. Rs.7.8-8 lakhs CTC.

IOCL (INDIAN OIL CORPORATION LTD)
General announcement: September-October
Procedure: GATE + GD + Interview
Requirement: approx. 300
Percentage criteria: 65% (Pass class for SC/ST/PH)
Written test: There is no written test conducted by IOCL. Only GATE scores of that particular year are considered for shortlisting the candidates for GD.
Package: During training, it will be Rs.24900+DA+Allowances. After training, the package would be approx. Rs.8.5 lakhs CTC.

EIL (ENGINEERS INDIA LTD)
General announcement: May
Procedure: Written Test + Interview
Requirement: approx. 25 for Mechanical
Percentage criteria: 65%
Written test: Consists of reasoning, quant, GK, English and technical.
Package: During 1 year training, it is Rs.25000+HRA per month i.e. Rs.3.75 lakhs CTC. On completion of training, it will be Rs.6.6 lakhs CTC.

SAIL (STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA LTD)
General announcement: September-October
Procedure: Written Test + GD + Interview
Requirement: approx. 450 including all branches.
Percentage criteria: 65% (50% for SC/ST)
Written test: Consists of reasoning (45 questions), quant (35 questions), GK (35 questions), English (35 questions) and technical (100 questions). So total of 250 questions and duration is 150 mins.
Package: During 1 year training, it is Rs.20600+DA+Allowances per month. On completion of training, it will be Rs.6.5 lakhs CTC.

BDL (BHARAT DYNAMICS LTD)
General announcement: December
Procedure: Written Test + Interview
Requirement: approx. 20-30 for Mechanical and Electronics.
Percentage criteria: 60%
Written test: not specified.
Package: During 1.5 years training, it is Rs.16400+DA+Allowances per month. On completion of training, it will be Rs.16900+DA+Allowances CTC per month.

GAIL (GAS AUTHORITY OF INDIA LTD)

Procedure: Written Test + Interview
Requirement: approx. 40 for Mechanical.
Percentage criteria: 65% (60% for SC/ST/PH)
Written test: Consists of GK (15 questions), Quant (35 questions) and technical (100 questions). Duration is 150 mins.
Package: During 1 year training, it is Rs.24900+DA+Allowances per month. On completion of training, it will be Rs.8.5 to 10.5 lakhs CTC based on location.

BARC (BHABHA ATOMIC RESEARCH CENTRE)

Requirement: not specified.
Percentage criteria: 60%
Written test: Written test is based on GATE pattern.
Package: During 1 year training, it is Rs.20000 per month (accommodation compulsory at training center). On completion of training, it will be Rs.24000+Allowances per month.

NALCO (NATIONAL ALUMINIUM COMPANY LTD)

Procedure: Written Test + Interview
Requirement: approx. 125 including all branches.
Percentage criteria: 65% (55% for SC/ST)

Procedure: Prelim + Written Test + Interview
Requirement: approx. 60 for Mechanical.

Written test: Prelim is conducted at various centers all over India, and consists of GK, Reasoning, English and basics of Engineering. Those who clear prelim are called for written test and interview at Vishakhapatnam. Written test consists of Aptitude (Quant + English) and Technical sections.
Package: Rs.6.5 lakhs CTC.

NTPC (NATIONAL THERMAL POWER CORPORATION)
General announcement: March
Procedure: Written Test + GD + Interview
Requirement: approx. 160 for Mechanical.
Percentage criteria: 65% (55% for SC/ST/PH)
Written test: Consists of aptitude (35 questions) and technical (55 questions) and the duration is 120 mins. Marking scheme is +1/-0.25.

ONGC (OIL & NATURAL GAS CORPORATION LTD)

Requirement: approx. 25 for Mechanical.
Percentage criteria: 65% (60% for SC/ST/PH)
Written test: Consists of GK (40 objective questions of 1mark each to be attempted from 50 questions and 2 descriptive questions of 5 marks each) and technical (60 objective questions of 1.5marks each to be attempted from 75 questions and 2 descriptive questions of 5 marks each) and the duration is 150 mins.
