Hi,
The University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals. It improves your academic value and help in your career.

The exam is conducted by UGC twice a year, i.e., in the months of June and December. The notifications announcing the June and December examinations are published in the months of March and September respectively in the weekly journal of nation-wide circulation, viz, Employment News.

i am attaching the NET computer science syllabus .

so prepare it well.

It is conducted once in June & once in December. The exam is basically conducted for gaining eligibility to be a lecturer in any part of the country. For candidates who are less than 28 years of age.A minimum of 55% marks in the Master's degree or an equivalent examination from a university recognized by UGC.

Note:

There will be two question papers, Paper-II and paper-III(Part A & Part B) paper –II will be cover 50 objective type question(Multiple type, matching type ,true/false, Assertion Reasoning type) carrying 100 marks Paper-III will have two parts Part-A and Part-B

Paper-III will have 10 short essay type question (300 words) carrying 16 marks ach. In it there will be one question with internal choice from each unit (i.e 10 question form 10 units Total marks will be 160) Paper-IIIB will be compulsory and there will be one question form each of the elective. The candidate will attempt only one question (One elective only in 800 words) carrying 40 marks. Total marks of paper-III will be 200

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST (NET)

Pattern for NET exam will be divided in two parts:--

PART A(two and a half hour)

There will be 40 objective type questions and Candidates are required to answer any 25 questions.
If candidate answers more than 25 questions, only the first 25 answers will be evaluated.
All questions shall be of 2 marks each. and there will be negative marks for each wrong answer..

  1. General information on Science and its interface with society to test the candidate’s awareness of science, aptitude of scientific and quantitative reasoning.
  2. COMMON ELEMENTRY COMPUTER SCIENCE:

  8. INHERITANCE BIOLOGY
  9. DIVERSITY OF LIFE FORMS
  10. ECOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES
  11. EVOLUTION AND BEHAVIOUR
  12. APPLIED BIOLOGY
  13. METHODS IN BIOLOGY

This entrance examination was conducted by UGC twice in a year.

Master degree candidates are eligible for this examination.

NET is conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC) twice in an year .the National eligibility test is conducted in Objective type form or multiple choice question pattern only

The exam consist of 2 sessions
The first session consist of 2 papers each of 1¼ Hours of duration
The Paper 1 will consist of 60 questions out of which 50 will have to attempted and this paper will be of 100 marks

The Paper 2 will consist of 50 questions out of which all will have to attempted and this paper will be of 100 marks

The second session of Paper 3 is of 2.5 hours
It will consist of 75 questions of total of 150 marks
The Paper 2 and 3 will be of Computer science in your case as these are of optional subjects.
