No need to clear MCI exam if we clear USMLE exam?
I heard if we clear USMLE exam than there is no need of giving MCI exam, is this true..? Experts please through some light upon the issue.

Yes, this is true to some extent. Actually earlier one had to take the eligibility certificate if one had to go abroad for MBBS course abroad from MCI. However, it was usually done in cases when one would have a thought of coming back to India after the course or in their lifetime and practice. In case one would go abroad to study from a non-recognized institute by MCI, one had to give a screening test when one would arrive back to India before practicing. If it would be a MCI recognized one, then there would not be any requirement of giving test. However, since this process of getting eligibility certificate is a long one, so now students are exempted wherein students have to register and then can go for study abroad. Later their details will be verified by MCI and if not recognized then one needs to give a screening test.
