About School of Tropical Medicine, Kolkata:
The foundation stone for establishment of Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine was laid by the Governor Lord Carmichel in the year 1914 on the 24th of February. The school began its functions in the year 1921 and the first batch of students obtained their Diploma in Tropical Medicine in the year 1922. The institute holds the pride of being the first institution engaged exclusively in the PG education and research in healthcare for tropical diseases. The institute offers tropical education courses with affiliation from the West Bengal University of Health Sciences located in Kolkata.

The course is conducted for two-year duration and the number of seats for this course in Medical Council of India is 12 students per year.
Eligibility requirement:
