Ambedkar Nagar District is located in the Faizabad Division of the state of Uttar Pradesh and the district was established in the year 1995, by the then Chief Minister of the state of Uttar Pradesh Ms. Mayawati. The district was named after one of the most contributing personalities in the Indian legislation Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. The district is spread over an area of 2520km2. Nearly 90% of the population of the district lives in small farming villages and the district has nearly 4000 villages. The college is located near the headquarters city of Akbarpur in the district of Amdedkar Nagar. The college offers Bachelor of Art, Science and Commerce and Master of Arts, Science and Commerce with affiliation from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University.

TNPG College, Tanda is also working under the control of Government of Uttar Pradesh and the college offers arts, science and commerce education with affiliation from Avadh University.

Polytechnic College:

Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj-Government Polytechnic, Ambedkar Nagar came into existence in the year 2003 and the college offers three-year diploma course in the following disciplines of engineering:
