Teacher Education College:

Government College of Teacher Education is a co-education college that came into existence in the year 1955. The college is offering Bachelor of Education course with affiliation from the University of Gulbarga and approval from the National Council for Teacher Education.

Arts & Science Colleges:

Degree Colleges:

All three-degree colleges are affiliated to the Gulbarga University and these colleges offer UG and PG courses in the faculties of Arts, Science and Commerce.  For seeking admission to these government-run arts, science and commerce colleges, candidates must have completed their higher secondary from any other recognized board of education can apply to these colleges.

First Grade Colleges:

All the afore-mentioned list of first grade colleges are affiliated to Gulburga University and these colleges also offer education in the faculties of arts, science and commerce. The first grade colleges are meant for offering UG courses alone in these disciplines as against normal arts and science colleges, which offer courses at PG to Ph. D level as well.

Polytechnic Colleges:

Three government-run polytechnic colleges are operating in the district of Gulbarga and they offer diploma courses in different disciplines like modern office practice, information science & technology, electronics & communication engineering, costume design & dress making and computer science and engineering.

These government colleges offer very good quality of education not only to the students belonging to the district of Gulbarga, but also to the students belonging to the other districts and states as well. To add a feather to the cap of education scenario in the district of Gulbarga, the government of Karnataka is also planning to introduce a central university in the district.
