Udupi Districts is one of the popular districts in the state of Karnataka known for its Sri Krihsha Temple, which attracts tourists and philanthropists from different parts of the nation. The district was created in the year 1997 and the district was formed by separating the taluks of Karkal, Kundapur and Udupi from the district of Dakshina Kannada and the administrative headquarters of the district is the town of Udupi.
