Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute came into existence in the year 1980 as one among the network of Social Science Research Institutions that were set up by the Indian Council of Social Science Research in association with the appropriate state governments. The institute became a constituent unit of the Allahabad University in the year 2005 on the 14th of July.

Eligibility requirement:

For seeking admission to the MBA RD program offered by the institute, candidates must have completed their graduation from a recognized institution in any stream. Even candidates in the final year of their degree course shall apply; however, they should submit their degree course completion certificate before the date specified by the institute.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of students for the MBA course offered by the institute will be based on the marks secured by the students in the entrance examination conducted by the institute itself. The written test will be conducted for 800 marks with 200 marks each for quantitative aptitude, general awareness, aptitude and reasoning and communication ability in English. There will be a personal interview for candidates succeeding in the written test.

Candidates can download the application form from the website of the institute and they should submit the duly filled in application along with DD for an amount of Rs. 1000 (Rs.500 for SC/ST candidates). The DD should be drawn in favor of the Director, GB Pant Social Science Institute payable at Allahabad. Even candidates can get the application form through post by sending a self-address envelop with stamp to the value of Rs.22.

The institute offers placement facilities for the students by offering a prospective platform for the prospective employers to discuss their mutual expectations with students through pre-placement talks.
