Government Jamuna Prasad Verma P.G Arts & Commerce College was founded in the year 1944 and in the year 1972 the government of Madhya Pradesh took over the college. The college was established with the objective of offering education to the economically and socially backward students belonging to the city of Bilaspur and villages located nearby the city. The college is currently working under the jurisdiction of Guru Ghasidas University located at Bilaspur in the state of Chhattisgarh.

Eligibility for Admission:

For getting admission to the first year of the degree courses offered by the college, candidates must have completed their 10+2 from an approved board and for PG courses, candidates must be graduates from an approved university.

Of the total number of seats available for admission, 15% and 18% of seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates respectively, 14% and 30% of the seats are for OBC and women candidates.
