IGNOU Engineering Aptitude Test (IGNEAT) is held every year, by Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. IGNOU has collaborated with Sri Angala Parameshwari Educational Trust (SAPET) to conduct the test.

Through the test, students are admitted to courses in various branches of engineering, at the undergraduate and diploma levels, conducted by the university. IGNEAT is held at various centers of IGNOU and the candidates are given the option of answering the entrance exam in Hindi or English.

Pattern of IGNEAT:

IGNOU Engineering Aptitude Test (IGNEAT) is conducted by the University to test the skill of the candidates in the field of engineering. IGNEAT is an Online Aptitude examination. The examination format of the aptitude test is explained in the following lines.

The question paper in the test comprises of only objective type questions, wherein four options are given for the correct answer.

The candidates have to answer all the questions within one hour and 30 minutes, which is the duration of the test.

There is no deduction of the marks in case of wrong answers. Marks are neither deducted for not attempting any question.

Questions are given in both Hindi and English, for the convenience of the candidates.

Eligibility for IGNEAT:

To appear in IGNEAT Entrance Exam, candidates should fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

• For the degree programs, the students must have passed higher secondary certificate examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination, from any recognized state/national Board.

• The qualifying examination must be passed by the candidates with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, from any statutory Board.

• In the case of candidates who apply under lateral entry scheme, they should have completed their diploma in computer applications or in any stream of engineering

• For the diploma courses, the aspirants need to have passed up to 10th level examination or its equivalent of any recognized Board.

• For the lateral entry, candidates must have completed their 10+2 vocational engineering streams or ITI certificate course in Engineering disciplines

As mentioned earlier, IGNEAT examination should be taken up by the candidates, who are seeking admission to the different streams of engineering diploma or degree courses at the UG level.
