IGNOU admit candidates to this programme through entrance exam based on National level.

Structure and Syllabus of IGNOU B.Sc Nursing Entrance Exam

Questions asked in this test will have multiple choices for answers. Candidates attempting to answer these questions should choose any one from them. Then it should be marked as their answers on the OMR sheet. Question will be asked from the subjects studied in General Surgery and Midwifery (GNM).

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should pass plus two and should have three years diploma in GNM. Also candidate need to have two year experience in the concerned profession. If this is not the case, then candidates should pass tenth or its equivalent and have three years diploma in GNM to apply for this test .Also those candidates need five years experience in the concerned profession.

How to Apply?

Candidates can receive application forms with prospectus by paying Rs.500/- in cash at university counters. DD of Rs.550/- should be taken in the name of IGNOU, if the candidates prefer to receive the application forms by post. Write name and address of the applicant below the DD, payable at New Delhi or the city of the concerned Regional Centre. With this DD, forward the filled forms to the concerned Regional Centre or to the address given below.

IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in will provide application forms which can be downloaded by the applicants. After filling it completely, applicant can send it to the concerned authority along with the DD of Rs.550/- through Registered or Speed post.

How to fill the Form?

Information brochure will include the instructions to fill the form. Fill the form after thoroughly reading those instructions. Fill the boxes specified to enter information on the form using ball point pen (black). If the letters are entered in the box, then it should be in English Capital letters. If the numerals are entered in the box, then it should be in English numerals. Forms containing unnecessary marks or wrinkles are worth rejection. Also try not to staple the form. Letters and numerals entered on the form should not cross the lines of the boxes. Recent passport Photograph attested by Gazetted officer should be affixed on the form. Keep the form from getting wet or torn due to any causes.

Study Plan

As candidates aspire to get admission in IGNOU are increasing every year, its entrance exam will have highly competitive nature. Because of this reason, good preparation should be needed from student’s side. They should understand the syllabus and plan to study every topic according to that. Start preparations early as possible. Determine the available time for studying excluding the time needed by students for their daily routines.

Then divide the topics into difficult sections and easy sections. Study first the difficult section by giving more time. Then study the easy portion with the rest of the available time. Apart from planning everyday, keep a target for every week and try to complete it before the end of the week. At the end of the week, revise all the topics which were studied that week using the notes prepared while studying. Usually books are the major study materials for studying. Apart from this try to study with the question papers of the IGNOU entrance exam conducted past years. By solving those question papers students will develop better idea of responding to the questions asked in the exam. Mind will be engaged all the time while following the plan of studying. So give some time for mind to take rest. Also don’t study at the time just before the exam. Calm mind without tension should be needed at that time.
