IITD Department of Management Studies Exam Pattern
The Indian Institute of Technology - Delhi, Department of Management Studies (IITD-DMS) carries out an entrance exam for the admittance of eligible students into its MBA programme. Seats are available for the Telecommunication Systems Management course (29 seats) in addition to the Management Systems course (86 seats). The duration for both the courses is 2 years. As to get admission into any of these full time courses, applicants need to write the Joint Management Entrance Test – JMET. More details about the exam are mentioned below.
Eligibility criteria
The qualification needed by an individual to write the Joint Management Entrance Test - JMET exam is a:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Agriculture Engineering
Students must have achieved more than 60 percent marks in their graduate degree finals.
Students who possess a Masters degree in any of the below given can apply in the IITD Department of Management Studies Exam as well.

Applicants must have got 60 percent marks and above in their final exams. Relaxation of 5 percent is available for applicants who belong to the reserved communities. The entrance exam of the Indian Institute of Technology - Delhi, Department of Management Studies (IITD-DMS) is generally carried out in the month of January and the personal interview is performed in March.

- Date interpretation – 30 questions
- Logical Reasoning - 30 questions
- Quantitative Ability - 30 questions
- Verbal communication - 30 questions
Question Pattern of IITD Department of Management Studies Exam
The Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) exam is of 3 hours duration. Four sections are there in the IITD Department of Management Studies Exam paper. The total questions of the JMET paper is 120. Every correct response will be awarded 1.5 marks and there is negative marking for wrong answers.
Shortlisted candidates shall be notified about the Personal Interview as well as the Group Discussion. These two comprise of the final selection procedure. Successful completion of all admission procedures will ensure the student’s admission into this institution.
