There is growing demand and importance for professionals in the field of Education management in India. Many institutes have come up, which are providing MBA in this discipline. Management of education can be defined as the process, in which we plan, coordinate, strategize, organize, control and direct the activities of any institute or institution. This can be done by effectively utilizing materials and resources and men effectively. So that function of teaching and research are done effectively. We see that many new institutes are coming up every day. So, there has to be a certain standard of education to be kept. Because of this fact the importance of a course like MBA in education management is also going up.

Eligibility requirements of MBA in Education Management

For doing MBA in this field, one should have Bachelors degree from any field. The degree should be from a recognized university or institute. Some universities require a minimum of 50% in the qualifying examination. Apart from this, the candidate will have to clear the written exam. This will be followed by group discussion and interviews.

Objectives of education management

It helps us in achieving total effectiveness of a school or an institute. It helps us in optimizing the maximum use of facilities like library or an auditorium. It similarly helps us in managing the most important resource like the human resource mainly the teaching staff, non teaching staff and of course students. It also helps us in improving the interpersonal communication among all its human resources. It helps us in maintaining the requirements of time on occasions apart from interpersonal conflicts. It also increases job satisfaction amongst all the major stakeholders. By achieving these objectives, one can manage a better image of school or institution in the eyes of society.

Need of education Management

There is immediate need for Education Management. With the mushrooming growth of engineering and management colleges in India, skilled personnel are required to manage them. We see most of the time that senior teachers are promoted as managers. This creates a lot of confusion as they are not skilled enough to do a Manager’s job. That’s exactly where skilled professionals come into the picture. A social revolution is required as the educational institutes should be more in tandem with the existing social fabric of our country. It is also desirable to make socials changes, while at the same time preserving the society’s culture and ethos.

It is also required that our education system becomes more proactive and takes decisions which benefit both institute and country.

    I have been working as TGT(M/P) in central school, teaching Mathematics, for 27 years with MSc(Chem), B.Ed. Recently, I have done MS in Educational Systems Management from a well reputed institutions during 2008-’10. It is a sponsored course.
