The Indian Institute of Technology located in the city of Patna has been one of the youngest members of the fraternity that has made itself in the family of IIT’s. The College is amongst the eight new IIT’s that has been recently established and the first classes that took place in the Institute were in the year 2008. The emblem of the Institute has been in the prime focus as it efficiently and clearly resembles the actual motives as well as philosophies behind the Institute itself.

Infrastructure and Campus:

The Institute is located in Bihita which in actual is located in the outskirts area of the capital city Patna. The campus of the institute is huge with an estimated area of about 600 acres or 2.4 square kilometers. The campus is also known to have an area of 45000 square feets or 4200 square meters dedicated only to free space. The Infrastructural facilities of the College are at par and are one of the best amongst the IIT’s.

Courses Offered:

This engineering as well as research based Institute offers both master as well as bachelor level degree in the discipline of engineering. The name of the stream in which the College offer UG based degrees is Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The college also offers Ph.D degree in the following subjects: Human and Social Studies, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Admission Procedure:

The candidates appear for IIT-JEE test before undertaking final admission in the college. The counseling round held offers seats as per the ranks obtained in the exam.

Placement:

The Institute has been renowned for placing its candidates in most of the top branded Companies located all around the world. The names of few of them are HCL Technologies, Nokia Communications, Satyam Solutions, etc.
