Integrated M.Sc.- Ph.D. Genomics is one of the courses offered at School of Biological Sciences, Madurai Kamaraj University. Graduates in streams of Medicine, Engineering, Life Sciences, etc are eligible to apply for the course. Selection is offered on the basis of a national level entrance test conducted by the University. Selected candidates can pursue the course by paying tuition fee of Rs.1, 200/- per annum.

Brief Description on Integrated M.Sc. - Ph.D. Genomics Course

The course helps students to gain in depth knowledge regarding the heredity information of an organism. DNA sequence, genetic mapping, etc in plants and animals will be covered under the course. Laboratory sessions in Gene cloning, Genomics, Proteomics, etc helps candidate to have practical understanding on the theoretical sessions studied. Duration of the course is 5 years. Successful completion of the course will help one to work as Project Assistant, Research Associate, Scientist, etc in firms like Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (IGIB), Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, etc.

Eligibility Criteria forIntegrated M.Sc. - Ph.D. Genomics Course

Bachelor degree holders in any of the streams of life science are eligible to apply. Degree holders in Medicine,Veterinary, Agriculture, etc are also eligible to apply. The qualification must be obtained from any recognized University with minimum 55% marks. Engineering graduates who have studied Biology at intermediate levels can also apply. B.Tech degree must be obtained in any of the following streams.

Selection to the course is done on the basis of a national level entrance test conducted by Madurai Kamaraj University. The test is conducted in objective model, which must be completed within a time duration of 100 minutes. The test comprises questions from the following subjects.
