Indian School of Mines University (ISMU) conducts an admission process for admission to its MBA programme. ISMU is one of the most reputed institutes in the country since it was founded in 1926. Though initially it only offered engineering programs but since 1997 it has started an MBA program which has been successful so much that ISMU is considered one of the top rated B-schools in the country for its MBA program.

This B-school has completed its decade of existence and is recognized as one of the most well renowned management based institutes in the eastern region. The institute is located around 260 km from Kolkata, and is spread over an enormous area of 88 hectares. The institute offers world class infrastructure along with highly evolved educational system. The enormous campus covers different academics buildings, complete residential complexes for faculty as well as staff alike along with huge student’s hostel. Apart from MBA, the institute offers other program such as B.Tech, M.Tech and M.Sc.Tech.

The institute is also recognized as one of the only B-School dedicated to mining industry. The above program however covers an underlying ethos that is technologically oriented along with analytical approach for problem solving aspects. This B-School earns assistance from different institutes in order to run the course. The School is known to raise its brand equity constantly and provide an effective knowledge and keep in tune with the changing time.

ISMU’s MBA program has been approved by AICTE. ISMU uses CAT scores for short listing candidates for its MBA Program. The shortlisted candidates are then called for Personal Interview and General Discussion after which the final selections are made. There are a total of 62 seats for MBA in ISMU.

Eligibility criteria:

A candidate should have a 3 years bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognized institute with atleast 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/Differently abled candidates) or equivalent CGPA. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply.

Availability of Application forms:

The forms for IMI will be available from October from ISMU. The form can be obtained by post from ISMU, Dhanbad by sending a Demand Draft in favor of Registrar, ISM University and payable  at  Dhanbad of Rs. 1500(Rs. 750 for SC/ST candidates) along with the request for form addressed to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Indian School of Mines University,  Dhanbad. Candidates can also download the form through the website www.ismdhanbad.ac.in and send it along with the demand draft.

Student Scholarships

No. of Scholarships:
25% of students enrolled in each Course.
Rs. 800/- per month and full freeship (Exemption from tuition fees)
Merit cum Means Freeship
10% of students enrolled in each Course.

Important Dates:

Availability of Application Forms: 1st week of October -1ast week of December, 2011
Last Date for receipt of completed application forms/Online Application: 1st week of December, 2011

Selection process:

Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their CAT scores. The shortlisted candidates are then called for Personal Interview and General Discussion after which the final selections are made. Final selection is based on a number of factors including Personal Interview, GD, Past Academic Record, Work Experience and Extracurricular activities.

    I want to know last years cat cut-of for ISMU to be called for gd/pi….
