Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research is one among the reputed medical institutions of the nation. Every year they conduct medical entrance exams in order to admit new batch of students. Students who get through the test are eligible to study in the college. After clearing the test, the students will go through a final round interview and then finally a counseling process. The exam will be objective type with multiple choice answers. Negative marking is not there in this exam. The eligibility criteria for the exam are briefed below.

Basic Eligibility for JIPMER MBBS

The basic qualification required by an aspirant to write the JIPMER MBBS entrance test is that he/she must have passed their higher secondary education with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. If the student belongs to any reservation category such as SC / ST / OBC / PD then only 40% marks is required. They must have studied English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the higher secondary level. Students studying in final year can also apply for the exam provided that they submit their eligibility proof during the final admission process.

Qualifying Examinations for JIPMER MBBS

The students must have passed the Indian School Certificate examination or the higher / senior secondary examination or equivalent to 10+2 higher /senior secondary examination which is completed after a study of 12 years, provided the aspirants should study Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology  and English in the last two years of their education. Students who have passed qualifying exams other than those mentioned above need to submit an eligibility certificate from Pondicherry University before the final stage of admissions. Students whose result is not yet published are also eligible to write the exam.

Who can apply for JIPMER MBBS?

All Indian students who satisfy the basic eligibility criteria can apply for the JIPMER MBBS test. Foreign students are not eligible to write the JIPMER MBBS test.

Age Qualification for JIPMER MBBS

Students between the age group of 17-25 years can apply for JIPMER MBBS exams. Relaxation will not be given for any category of students.

Documents Required

The major documents required for the test include Pass certificate of the qualifying examination, Statement of marks of the qualifying examination, Age certificate showing the date of birth (Birth Certificate or X Std.  Certificate), Character and Conduct certificate from the Head of the Institute last studied, Residence certificate issued by Revenue Authority not below the rank of Tahsildar, In case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, a Community certificate, recently obtained from the competent authority – a Revenue Officer not below the rank  of Tahsildar,  Transfer certificate from the Head of the Institution last studied, In case of Pondicherry Residents, the Residence Certificate / Employer Certificate and Medical Certificate in case of OPH Candidate.
