Structure of JIPMER PG Entrance Exam for MD/MS

Question paper of this entrance exam will consists of two parts with two hundred and fifty multiple choice questions. Hundred questions will be asked in first part and one hundred and fifty questions will be asked in the second part.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess MBBS degree recognized by Medical Council of India. They also need to complete one year internship training.

How to Apply?

Applicants can apply for this exam through online and offline. Details of both modes are given below

Online: Applicants should take demand draft of required application fee in the name of Accounts Officer, JIPMER, payable at Pondicherry from any nationalized bank. They should visit the website www.jipmer.edu and open the link ‘Apply online’. They should enter the details of the DD into the online form. After entering all the details into the form, click the submit button to generate application number. Applicants should take the print out of this form including application number. Then they should affix photograph, fingerprints and signature on the space specified in the form. After that they should submit this form to The Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry-605 006 either by hand or by post.

Offline: Applicants should obtain the application forms from the State Bank of India, JIPMER branch. They can obtain the forms after paying the required fee directly or through NEFT mode. Applicants can receive the forms through post on sending a MICR demand draft of required application fee from any nationalized bank to the Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry-605 006. After receiving the forms, applicants should fill it completely and send to The Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry-605 006.

How to fill the Form?

Forms should be filled correctly using only ball point pen (blue or black). Finger prints of the applicants affixed on the form should be clear. Applicants should put their signatures at appropriate places on the form.

Students should have thorough knowledge about the topics studied on graduation this is an entrance test for post graduation course. Students can improve their knowledge by referring the notes prepared during graduation. Students can also study with good text books on the topics specified in the syllabus to make necessary preparations for the exam.

As objective questions are mainly asked from theory subjects, students should be well acquainted with the main concepts in every topic. They can also prepare by solving sample questions related to these topics. It is better to use old question papers of this exam for this purpose. Thus they will get used to solving questions under the conditions specified in the exam. Thus students will be able to solve questions within less time.
