BSEB is the short form for Bihar State Electricity Board and this board was established by the Government of Bihar through an Act for the promotion of coordinated development in transmission, distribution and generation of electricity in the state of Bihar.

Bihar State Electricity Board is planning to recruit candidates for the position of Junior Electrical Engineer in Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering and here are the details regarding the notification issued by the Board in this regard:

Name of the Vacancy: Junior Electrical Engineer-GTO Cadre (Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 45, which is divided among the three departments as follows

• Junior Electrical Engineer (Electrical) – 35 (Post Code: D1)

• Junior Electrical Engineer (Electronics) – 05 (Post Code: D2)

• Junior Electrical Engineer (Mechanical) – 05 (Post Code: D3)

Pay Scale: Candidates appointed for the position of Junior Electrical Engineer in Bihar State Electricity Board will be coming under the pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 plus Grade pay of Rs.4500.

Eligibility requirements:

Qualification for Electrical discipline: Candidates must have three-year Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a Government Recognized University.

Qualification for Electronics discipline: Candidates must have three-year diploma in Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation & Control/Electronics & Telecommunication engineering from an institution recognized by the Government.

Qualification for Mechanical discipline: Candidates must have three-year diploma in mechanical engineering from an institution recognized by the Government.

For all three disciplines, candidates belonging to UR category must have secured not less than 65% of marks in the final year diploma examination and required percentage is 50% for SC/ST candidates and 60% for BC/EBC candidates.

Age: To apply for the position of Junior Electrical Engineer, candidates must be between the age group of 21 and 37 years of age. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, three year for EBC/BC and female candidates.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the written test, which will be conducted for a duration of two hours and maximum 100 marks.

Cost of application:

Application fee is Rs.1000 for general category candidates and Rs.250 for SC/ST candidates belonging to the state of Bihar, Rs.400 for the current regular/contract employees of BSEB and in case the employees belong to SC/ST category the cost of application for them is Rs.100. The fee should be deposited to the current account of BSEB to 31963202219 in any State Bank of India by filling challan form in triplicate that can be obtained from http://bseb.bih.nic.in/
