B.Tech Student Eligibility for Technical Branch in Indian Air Force IAF
i am a 3rd yr b.tech student in ece branch. i have an aggregate of 77%. how can i join technical branch in IAF.what are the other fields that i'll be eligible and how to apply for those.

dear friend,
There are a scope to enter in IAF a an engineer. Recently a form was published for aeronautical engineers & a student of ECE was eligible. you have to first appear in EKT(engineering knowledge test) then after selection in EKT you will be called for SSB test & then you will finally selected. There are three branches in the Indian Air Force 1.Flying Branch: If a candidate is wiling to join in the flying branch, he will need to write NDA/CDS exam conducted by UPSC. To appear for CDS exam conducted by UPSC, you must hold a bachelor degree with physics and maths at +2 level or a degree in enginering. The minimum eligible age to appear in the exam is 19 years whereas, the maximum age limit is 23 years. 2.Technical Branch:Since you are willing to join technical branch, you will need to write Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) conducted by AirForce Selection Board. To join as an aeronautical engineer in the electronic branch, you should have pursued 4 year degree programme and must have scored a minimum of 60% in aggregate. You should have studied, a minimum of eight subjects from the following list of subjects, in the degree programme. (1) Physics / Engineering Physics. (2) Mathematics / Engineering Mathematics. (3) Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing. (4) Electrical Engineering / Electrical Technology. (5) Control Engineering. (6) Microprocessors. (7) Digital Electronics / Basic Electronics. (8) Computer Networks. (9) Information Technology. (10) Network Theory Design. (11) Telecommunication Systems. (12) Electronic Circuit Design. (13) Radar Theory. (14) Switching Theory. as per my knowledge b.tech student is eligible for technical branch in indian air force.there r many exam to enter in IAF.the exams r 1.SSC 2.PSC 3.EKT. 4.CDS 5.UES etc u just select any of the above exam. as per my knowledge to sit in that exam u must have 60% avg in ur b.tech degree. to enter in airforce first of all u have to clear ekt,then sscor psc.after that u will be selected. so take decission & make ur bright future. good luck. |

UES (it has both permanent & SSC scheme): university entry scheme,is meant for all male and female candidates those who have attend there first university degree,that is (Bachelor degree). Notification for it are released In Employment news. Both Short service and permanent service is offered through this scheme.
SSC: short service commission,is ment for all candidates those who have B.sc/M.sc (Physics,radio,electronics,) or B.tech/M.tech (civil,mechanical,electronics,electronics & talecommunication,Aeronautical etc.) with atlest 60% aggregate including all semester.Notification for it are released In Employment news. Age Limit: 25 years for Bachelor Holders, 27 years for Master holders CDS: Combined Defence Service Examination (CDSE) is conducted by upsc (http://www.upsc.gov.in) twice every year for entry into all three defence services. Eligibility criteria is different for all three. For ARMY- graduation in any background,with at least 60% aggregate Age Limit- 25 years.For Navy: B.sc(with Physics and Mathematics) or B.tech/B.E Age Limit- 22 years.For Airforce- B.E./B.Tech,graduate in any decipline with Physics or Mathematics at class 12 Age Limit- 23 years. You can also enter in there logistic cadre ,the minimum qualification for logistic cadre is B.sc(pcm),BCA,LLB,etc.You have to crack an entrance for it conducted by army,navy and airforce it self.Notifications are released in employment news keep it reading. For NCC Certificate holder: All the criteria is same, in an addition canidate must have senior grade NCC "B" grade "C" certificate in ARMY wings. Fast Track Entry Scheme: are meant for recruiting Engineers through campusing.Like wise MNC's This time IAF has also introduced this scheme for recruiting young Engineers in IAF in technical branches.This scheme held across the selected Engineering Institutes of India. This scheme also takes place in Various "Career/Educational fares" or by Organising Rally etc. But Generally Airforce Admit Aeronautical Engineering students through this scheme. NOTE: Keep reading employment News because all the notifications, vacancies etc. are announced there. as you are doing B.Tech in ECE department,it is very easy to join Indian air force . There are three ways,through which you can join indian air force . Those ways are as follows : UES(university entry scheme) : through this scheme ,you have to face direct interview and after getting success you will be call for AFSB. you can appear for this in your 3rd year and 4th year. 2.EKT(engineering knowledge test): Through this scheme you have to give a written test ,after completing this stage you will be call for AFSB. 3. SSC(short service commission) : In this scheme,also you have to appear for written test.After clearing written test you will be called for AFSB.Actually in this scheme, you will be commissioned for 15 years in the force. NOTE : Friend,for the preparation of written test ,you should read the mechanics, math,physics that you have read in 1st year. Career in Indian airforce of adventure and life.There you will get respect in the society as well as money and security of yourself and your belongings. So, go for it and enjoy the life. friend, there are number of other fields for you, actually Today's world is the world of electronics. You can find job easily in both sector government as well as private sector. in my college v have cgpa system....
ma cgpa till 6th sem is 6.58....am i eligible coz i have cleared the EKT and till now actually never paid attention if CGPA and % have any difference. |

s an Engineer, you can soar into a rewarding and challenging career in the Indian Air Force. You can even join the Technical Branch in your final or pre-final year of engineering through the University Entry Scheme.
there are mainly three branch 1. flying branch 2.technical branch 3.ground duty. Eligibility Criteria :- 1) Age:- 19 to 23 years 2) Educational Qualifications :- Must be a graduate in any stream with Physics and Mathematics in 10+2. and so you can get into the airforce with this qualification |

After completion of b.tech you want to join in Indian Air force in technical branch.. For that you can appear in UES exam..

There are some selection procedure such as: Combined Defense Services (CDS) Exam is generally conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) to recuirt the Indian Military Academy(IMA), Officers Training Academy(OTA), Naval Academy and Air Force Academy(AFA) Generally,the notice is published in the month of March and September every year. Eligibility Criteria: Age: i)19 to 23 years ii)19 to 25 years for CPL Holders which is issued by DGCA ,India. Upper age limit is relaxed up to 25 years. Marital Status: You have to be Single. Nationality: You have to be Indian Gender: Men and women can apply for the examination.
