Government of India, established the Bihar Staff Selection Commission with the objective of bringing in a body for organizing competitive examinations and personal interview for recruitment of candidates for different government jobs in the state of Bihar.

Recruitment by BSSC:

Bihar Staff Selection Commission invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Engineer (Civil) to work for Water Resource Department and the details regarding the notification issued by the commission for the same are given below:

Name of the position: Junior Engineer (Civil)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of Vacancies is 1988, which is divided as follows:

• OBC – 369

• BC – 222

• General – 958

• BC – 62 (female)

• SC – 343 (female)

• ST – 34 (female)

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will get a pay scale of Rs.5000-8000 (pre-revised)

Eligibility Requirement:

Educational Qualification: For applying to the position of Junior Engineer (Civil), candidates must have completed their Diploma in Civil Engineering from an institution approved by the Government of Bihar.

Age requirement: To apply for the position of Junior Engineer (Civil), candidates must be between the age group of 18 and 37 years of age.

Selection Process:

Selection of candidates will be based on written test, which will be conducted for 100 marks.

Application Fee:

Candidates will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.200 (Rs.50 for SC/ST candidates belonging to the state of Bihar) towards application fee through Indian Postal Order drawn in favor of the Secretary, Bihar Staff Selection Commission, Patna payable at GPO, Patna.

How to apply:

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirements, will have to apply in prescribed format as given in the website of BSSC and applications complete in all aspects should be sent either through speed/registered post to the address given below before the 07th of July 2011 upto 5.00 pm
