Kurukshetra University is one among the popular Universities in the country which is situated in the holy city of Kurukshetra. The University was established in the year 1965. It has got good quality faculty to train the students to evolve as good citizens of India. This University conducts diverse courses such as undergraduate, post graduate, diploma and doctorial courses. The eligible candidates are selected for the doctorial course in Law by organizing entrance examination every year. The details regarding this entrance examination is mentioned below.

Structure and Syllabus of Kurukshetra University Ph.D in Law Entrance Exam

The Kurukshetra University Ph.D Law Entrance Examination consists of two papers. The first paper comprises of Objective type questions. There will be a total of 50 questions. Candidates have to answer all the 50 questions within a time period of 60 minutes. There will be no negative markings for this section. The questions are structured from the following topics-

  • Jurisprudence
  • Constitution of India

The second paper includes subjective questions. Candidates have to complete the second section within a time limit of two hours. The maximum marks awarded for this section is 100 marks. The first question is compulsory and it consists of six parts. The students have to answer any four parts. From the remaining for question, candidates have the choice to answer any two questions. The first question carries 40 marks where as the third and the fourth question will be of 30 marks each. Candidates can expect the questions from the following subjects.

  • Jurisprudence
  • Constitution of India

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates those who hold a post graduate degree in Law with an aggregate of 55% marks are eligible to appear for the test. The students those who pertain to the backward community can enjoy a relaxation of 5% marks for the minimum educational qualifications required.

How to apply?

The application forms for the Ph.D Law Entrance Examination can be downloaded from the website of the Kurukshetra University. The candidates those who belong to the general category have to pay an amount of Rs 40/- as the application fees. The SC/ST candidates need to pay only Rs 10/- for the same. After filling the application forms completely, send it to the concerned address along with a demand draft of the specified amount. The applications have to be sent to The Director/Chairperson, Institute/Department of Legal Studies, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra-136119.

How to fill the form?

The candidates have to fill the application form in their own handwriting. They should enter the details in block letters. The students must use a black or blue ball point pen to fill the application forms. The Candidates are supposed to fill the boxes by leaving space in between each word. Students have to attach all the valid documents before sending the application form. The application forms will not be taken if they are not complete in all respects.

The candidates have to start the preparations for the entrance examinations way before the actual exam. It is not possible to cram the entire syllabus within a very short span of time. Start preparing for the examination by establishing a calendar that describes the daily schedule of topics for revision. Make a brief note of the important points during studies. Mark the complicated portions on the outline which you have created earlier. After finishing this review, start off again with the portions that you have highlighted as the difficult ones. Create flash cards for studying the definitions and important dates.
