Law Colleges in Assam

Assam hosts the most number of higher educational institutes among the entire north-eastern region of India. The need of law education has been rightly felt by the state government and all sorts of help have been provided to the institutes. Due to the raising socio-political issues, youth have been highly attracted towards making law education as their career prospective.

Earlier in India legal education was not at a professional level and all those who had spare time used to join the course. As a result the judicial system began to fail and so the government arose to take a remedial step by introducing a 5-year integrated bachelors’ degree programme. It motivates individuals to dig out the truth in matters and to present it in front of the mass. This course also enhances the verbal and analytic capabilities of individuals.

Applicants should have scored minimum of 45% (for general) or 40% (for SC/ST/OBC) and should be less than 23 years (for general) and 25 years (for SC/ST/OBC) of age. The entrance procedure and criteria, again, varies with institute. These law colleges have different facilities for proper learning of its students. Accommodation for outside candidates is also not a problem as most of the colleges have hostels, mess and PG very near to the college.
