No its not difficult but it takes time in terms of cultural, language and behavoural variations.
The weather is bit dry and in summers goes around 35-40 Degrees wheres in winters its less than 10 degrees.

The food: you will get delicious, natural south indian food like idly, dosa, bara etc at economical prices but if you look for north indian/punjabi dhaba food, then you might not get the same taste.

The living conditions: the system of living is quite smooth because of good literacy rate and people are co-operative. but still , you need to pro-actively remain in touch with people from your city and the community/clubs and particiapte in festivals/ get together because many students are there like you.

There are no issues when you are inside your college, but when you are outside, local language is a problem somewhere but most of the people can speak english fluently (though they can understand hindi also).

Except the cultural and climate issue, the living condition are almost similar and south india is known for IT, literacy, discipline and co-operation.

It just takes time to settle down. do not worry !!

For getting into NLU, you have to pass an exam called CLAT (common law admission test) in which 24000 (or around ) students compete ever year.

The best ranking students get into NLSIU bangalore, NALSAR hyderabad, and other 12 participating universities.
If you go for law from law college , there is a difference.

1. The NLUs are like a brand as IIT is for engineering and IIM for management students.
2. they have the state-of-the-art faculty and thus have an edge.
3. the big firms like Amarchand mangaldas, Khaitan hire /prefer students from NLUs first.
4. the ministries give preference to NLU students.
5. they take students for international moots etc. so they give you a better exposure.

AT THE END, if you have capability, and you well in non-NLU even then your future is bright, you need not worry.
Whether in NLU or not, it depends on how good you have studied and applied in law field.
