Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was established on September 26, 1977. The commission was initially named as Subordinate Services Commission. The amjor objective of the commission is to make recruitment in the various departments of the Government of India to various class III or class ‘C’ (non technical) posts. The commission consists of only one Chairman, one secretary cum controller of examinations and two other members. The headquarter of the commission is located in the state of Delhi.
