Chattisgarh is emerging as a rising state. The long dormant state is trying very hard to reach its full potential. Since the state is lacking in basic healthcare services, the government is putting special emphasis on developing medical education.

Entrance Test:

Students have to appear for CPMT (Chattisgarh Pre Medical Entrance Test). CIMS (Chattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences) conducts the annual CPMT exam. There are only two institutes offering medical education in Chattisgarh. So the competition is extremely intense. Students have to prepare rigorously for the exam. The exam will test the students in areas of Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry.

Eligibility:

Students should have completed their standard 12th from CBSE / ICSE or any of the recognized higher secondary board in the country. Students should have opted for PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)as their core subjects in standard 12th examination. Also the students should have opted for English as an elective subject. Students expecting their 12th standard results can also apply. However they have to furnish their results within six months of joining MBBS course.

Scope of MBBS from Chattisgarh:

Students have plenty of scope to advance their career pursuing a MBBS from institutes in Chattisgarh. Students can start their own practice as a full fledged doctor. Many of them also find work with leading government and private hospitals and medical colleges across the country. Students can also pursue higher studies in medicine and can specialize in various branches of medicine.
