Master of Science in Medical Microbiology is a post graduate programme that deals with the advanced study of micro organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. It includes the study of microbial pathogenesis and epidemiology. Graduation in respective subject with a minimum of 55 % marks is the educational qualification required to apply for this course.

Eligibility Criteria

Admission to the post graduate programme in medical microbiology will be based on the area of graduation in any of the subjects such as MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm, ayurveda medicine, homeopathy medicine, physiotherapy and B.Sc nursing etc. Apart from this, candidates who have completed graduation in any of the science subjects are also eligible to apply for this course. Candidates should obtain a minimum of 55 % aggregate marks in graduation from any university recognized by UGC. Candidates belonging to reserved category need to have 50 % marks only. Apart from these, candidates should have studied physics, chemistry, zoology or botany in the bachelor’s degree, as well as higher secondary board examination.

The duration of the course is two years. It is further divided into four semesters. It covers topics such as Molecular mechanisms of disease, Theoretical aspects of infectious disease, pathogenicity and infection control.   Semester wise course curriculum is given below in detail.
