The post graduate level of the course of sericulture deals in topics which include silkworm breeding as well as related genetics, silkworm bio-technology and physiology as well as nutrition, silkworm biochemistry, mulberry production and silkworm rearing techniques. The course follows up detailed research based projects on these topics and therefore offer in-depth knowledge of the following topics.

Eligibility Criterion:

The candidates have to attain a minimum of 45% in their 10+2 level along with 40% in their under-graduate degree and may belong to any of the discipline, however compulsorily the candidates in both the level have to be from the Biological subject background. The candidates at the time of admission have to be of a minimum age of twenty years and can be a maximum of twenty-three years.

Course Duration:

The total lent of the course is about two years. The course in most of the Institute is divided into semesters, with the length of the semester been six months. However there are other Institutes also that follows paper system, in which the course is divided into two paper of length one year each and the candidates have to pass through several project work as well as research program and internal assessment.

Job Prospects:

The candidates can explore several stable job opportunities in the organizations that are concerned with silkworm as well as their rearing. Organizations housing production of silk are an option for job prospects that the candidates may explore.
