Mumbai University is one of the most popular universities in the country where many students pursue courses in various streams. The university is mostly known for the courses it provides in the engineering stream. Many students within the country and abroad, study at this university. BE computer science students during the 3rd semester of the course have to study electronic devices and linear circuits. At the end of the semester, they have to take its exam.

About the subject

The subject is mainly about electronics, various devices and their circuits. This is a subject where the students learn about the functioning of the electronic devices that we use daily. As far as computer science students are concerned, this is a very important subject. The subject also focuses on semi conductor devices and circuits.

Paper pattern

The paper does not contain any sections. There are a total of 7 questions in the paper. Each question will contain two or more sub questions. Question 1 is compulsory and all the sub questions within it have to be answered by the candidates. From the remaining six questions, the candidates have to answer any four questions. The paper does not contain any objective questions and is totally descriptive. According to the instructions in the paper, the candidates can make assumptions. The question paper consists of diagrammatic questions and problems other than theory questions. Numerical problems are of prime importance.

Duration of paper and marking scheme

The candidates are allotted three hours for completing the question paper. They will be allotted sufficient reading time. The paper is for a total of 100 marks. The candidates have to answer 5 questions and each question carries 20 marks to make the 100.
