NEF Law College came into existence in the year 2006 and it is one of the finest institutions for law education in the North Eastern part of the nation. The college is functioning with the objective of fulfilling the dream of a ‘law college of excellence’ in the city of Guwahati in the state of Assam. The department of higher education of the government of Assam and the Bar Council of India has approved the college and it is affiliated to the Gauhati University.

NEF Law College offers the following courses with affiliation from the Gauhati University:

Some of the details regarding these courses offered by the NEF Law College are given below:

BA LLB (hons.), BBA LLB (honors) and B. Com LLB (honors):

These are five-year integrated courses, for which NEF Law College is permitted to admit 60 students per year per course. To seek admission to these courses, candidates with higher secondary or any other equivalent examination with not less than 45% of marks (40% of SC/ST/OBC candidates) and those who have not completed 20 years of age (22 years for reserved category) are eligible. These requirements should be fulfilled by the candidates on the 1st of June in the year in which he/she is seeking admission.

LLB:

LLB is a three-year course, for which NEF Law College is permitted to admit 120 students per year. To seek admission to this course, candidates with graduation in any discipline from a recognized university with not less than 45% of marks (40% of SC/ST/OBC candidates) are eligible and the maximum age limit to seek admission to this course is 30 years (35 years for reserved category). The age requirement should be fulfilled by the candidates on the 1st of January in the year in which he/she is seeking admission. Even candidates in the final year of their degree course are eligible to apply.

Admission Procedure:

Admission of students to the integrated courses offered by the NET Law College is done based on the entrance examination conducted by the college and admission will be purely based on the merit secured by the candidates in the qualifying examination and entrance examination. Admissions to the LL.B course offered by the college will be done based on the merit secured by the candidates in the qualifying examination.
