NET Defence and Strategic Studies (Paper III) Papers
Paper 3 of Defence and Strategic Studies is a two hour thirty minutes paper comprising of 200 marks. It has essay type questions. There are in all 26 questions in the question booklet. The answer to the short answer questions and the essay type questions are to be answered in the space following the question in the test booklet itself. There is a rough sheet at the end of the test booklet just in case a candidate needs it.. The first section includes a paragraph based on which five questions are asked.
In Section 2, there are fifteen questions carrying five marks each. These questions are to be answered in 30 words. The third section contains five questions of 12 marks each. All questions here are compulsory. The answers have to be about 200 words.
The student is expected to answer questions on discussions and differentiations. The topics covered here include international disputes, national security etc. The fourth section has one essay type question to be answered for forty marks. You can select from two options. The student is expected to write a 1000 word answer for the same. The question mostly includes topics like discussing the nuclear policy or any other current topic.
