National Fertilizers Limited or NFL is a Mini Ratna and a Schedule A company. This company stands second in the production of nitrogenous fertilizers in India. The company has a share of 16.5% in Urea production. The company was set up in the year 1974. The first two manufacturing units of the company were in Panipat and Bhatinda. In 1978 the manufacturing unit at Nangal, owned by Fertilizer Corporation of India, came in control of NFL. The plants of the company are all certified by ISO-14001, ISO-9001 (2000), and OSHAS-18001. All the plants confirm to the standards set by these organizations. They meet all the occupational safety, environmental and hazard control standards.

The company recruits fresh engineering graduates every year. The selection procedure of the company is described below.

The selection process consists of a written test followed by an interview. The written test is both technical and aptitude test. The duration of the test is 2 hours. Both the sections cover half-half of the paper. The aptitude section consists of questions from vocabulary, reasoning, quantitative aptitude, English, verbal and non verbal.

The technical portion consists of questions from C, OS, DBMS, Compiler, Oops, CO, computer graphics. There are 170 questions in the paper. For every wrong answer there is a negative marking of half mark.
