NIMS University is one of the most famous University in India offering various medical, technical and management courses for the students. NIMS University PG Medical Entrance Test is an entrance test conducted by NIMS University for the selection of eligible candidates for the MD and MS courses offered by the University. The duration of the exam is three hours. There are numerous aspirants applying for the test from all over the country.

Structure of NIMS University PG Medical Entrance Test

The admission for the PG medical courses offered by NIMS University is on the basis of a written test conducted by NIMS. The entrance test consists of 300 multiple type questions. The time given for the test is three and a half hours. The test is mainly to evaluate the basic knowledge in the MBBS course curriculum. Each question is given with four alternatives. The candidates have to pick the correct answer from the given options and mark it in the OMR sheet. One mark is reduced as penalty for the wrong answer.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates need to have certain eligibility requirements for getting admission for the post graduate medical courses in NIMS University. The applicants should have an MBBS degree. It should be from any recognized University. Only those who have completed their one year compulsory internship in any hospital after completing their Bachelor degree can apply. The applicants must have a registered certificate from Indian Medical Council or State Medical Council.

How to Apply?

The application form will be available from the University website. The candidates can also send the application form downloaded from the website. The candidates can purchase the application form directly from the NIMS University Office centre by the cash payment of Rs.2500/-. The candidates can obtain the form by post by sending a request to the University with a demand draft of Rs.2600/- The candidates have to take the print out copy of the filled application form and send it to the University. The demand draft of Rs.2600/- should be send along with the application form.

How to fill the Form?

The candidates have to fill the application form as per the instructions in the exam notification or in the website. Any error in the filled form may lead to the rejection of the same. The candidates should fill the form with full concentration. The form must be filled in the handwriting of the candidates. The bank draft of Rs.2600/-in favour of the NIMS University in Jaipur should be attached with the application form. The form should be send to the University before the final date. The form should be send by registered post or by speed post only.

• Date and time of Pre-PG test: Last Week of March, 2012
• Publication of the result on website www.nimsuniversity.org: Second Week of April, 2012
• Counselling/verification of documents and medical examination of provisionally selected candidates and payment of the prescribed fees will be conducted in the third Week of April, 2012
• Commencement of regular classes: First Week of May, 2012

Study Plan

The PG medical entrance exam is very tough and high preparation is necessary to successfully clear the exam. The candidates must start their preparation from the date of the release of the exam notification. At first the candidates have to fix the most appropriate time for studying. Then select a calm and silent place for preparing for the exam. The syllabus of the exam will be available from the website. Candidates can split the topics into different small sessions and try to complete the topics within the time limit. During the last days of the exam do not try to learn new topics. Spend that time for revising all the topics. Time is the main problem for the exam. Continuous practice with the previous question papers helps the candidates to control the time of the exam and it helps to answer all the questions within the time limit.
