Nirmala College was established in the year 1969 in the month of August as Christian Minority institution with the primary objective of offering higher education opportunity to the young women belonging to the catholic group. The college is offering education with affiliation from Ranchi University and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council has awarded the college with B+ status.

Nirmala College is offering intermediate course in the faculty of arts and degree courses in the faculty of arts and science, the list of courses offered by the college is given below:

• Bachelor of Arts (honors)

• Bachelor of Science (honors)

Admission Procedure:

Students seeking admission to either intermediate course or degree course, must submit the application in the prescribed format immediately after publication of results of the qualifying examination namely CBSE or ICSE for intermediate course or 10+2/CBSE/ICSE/Intermediate results for the degree courses. Candidates can obtain the application from the campus of the college.

Nirmala College is offering students’ aid fund to needy students subject to the availability of funds. In addition, the college offers textbook library facilities to poor students with the help of the funds received from University Grants Commission. It offers scholarships to students belonging to low income, backward class, scheduled tribe and schedule caste categories by getting sanction from donors. The college arranges for remedial classes for students who are weak in subjects like physics and English.

Co-curricular activities:

Several societies like geography association, political science association, history association, environmental & discipline society, women’s cell, games & sports society, debating & public speaking society, creating writing society, etc… are functioning in the college. Students are encouraged to take part actively in functions and programs organized by these societies thereby enabling the students to get not only academic development, but also development in other areas as well.
