Saurashtra Gramin Bank was formed as a government owned bank in the country in the year 1948. Before it merged into the State Bank of India, it had a wide network of 423 branches in the various states of the country. After merging, it becmae one of the seven associate banks of the State Bank of India. The State Bank of India took over the Saurashtra Bank under the State Bank of India (Subsidiary Banks) Act, 1959. The first chairman of the bank was Jagubhai S. Parikh, who was also the first Finance Minister in the post independence Suarashtra Cabinet.

Job Profile:

Applications for the post of Officer Scale-I (Group-A) are invited from the desirous candidates by Saurashtra Gramin Bank. All interested candidates should fill the requisite qualifications and other eligibility criterias as well for applying in the bank.

Eligibility:

Candidates should be atleast 18 years of age which is the minimum age limit set for the post. Also candidates should not be more than 28 years of age as on 1 September 2010. The upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/Other categories of candidates as per the rules and regulations of the GOvernment of India. Candidates should have proficiency in Gujarati language.

Educational Qualification:

Degree in any discipline or its equivalent from any recognized university. Candidates who are having diploma in the areas such as Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, Information Technology, Management, Agricultural Marketing, Accountancy, Forestry and Horticulture can also apply for the specified post of Officer Scale-I (Group-A) in Saurashtra Gramin Bank. Candidates having knowledge of computers in addition to their educational qualification will get preference over other.

Pay Scale:

All candidates appointed as Officer Scale-I (Group-A) in Saurashtra Gramin Bank will get the monthly salary of Rs. 14500-18700.

Application Fee:

Rs. 300 is the amount of application fee that is need to be paid by the General category candidates. Rs. 75 is the application fee for SC/ST/PWD candidates. The prescribed amount of application fee is need to be submitted by the interested candidates in any branch of Saurashtra Bank. Candidates can also submit the application fee in any branch of State Bank of India. The payment challan for submitting the application fee can be downloaded from the bank’s website.

Selection Process:

A Competitive written examination will be conducted by the bank on 17 April 2011. Candidates will first have to qualify in this written test. And only after qualifying in this written examination, they will be allowed to sit in the final selection procedure which includes a interview test with the selection committee.

How to apply: Interested candidates are required to apply online only at the official website of Saurashtra Bank. No other means or mode of application will be accepted by the bank. Also the application must be made on or before the last date for the online application. Application made after the due date will not be considered by the bank at all.
