Established in the year of 2005, the PDPM Indian institute of information technology, design and manufacturing was established with the viewpoint of replying to the radical changes that are happening considering the three major aspects of the Indian growth i.e. the role of IT or the need of information to support any industry today. With the lack of knowledge and information about the decisions to be made with respect to the competitive market, there isn’t any venture that can be successful in the current environment and the other aspect of design and manufacturing involves the use of engineering principles and techniques that are constantly being employed to the India’s developmental dynamics to support it. Moreover, to handle this change that is taking place so rapidly, engineers are being called to manage them and thus take them to a stable condition. So the establishment of this university came to revolutionize the teaching of engineering principles, and formats in accordance with the changing environment.

Moving to the courses offered by the university, it offers a 4 year B.Tech program in the trades of computer Science & engineering, Electronics & communication engineering and Mechanical engineering. Besides the academic teaching involved with the courses, the university also pays due attention to the innovations, practical experience and overall personality development of the students. This helps the students of any trades to get absorbed with the most demanding sectors of the Indian industry like machinery, automobile, consumer durables, defense etc. in the post graduate package offered by the university, this includes an M.Tech degree in the same disciplines as the B.Tech under graduate degree. Apart from these, the university also offers a course by the name of Masters of Design (M.Des) and finally the doctoral PhD program in the same above written disciplines.

All these courses require the university to be well equipped and thus provide an environment for the students to learn and so absorb all the teachings. This is fostered by the campus facilities that the university provides which include a central library for any sort of generic or specified professional reference, fully functional laboratories maintained by the departments individually of the three trades (CSE, ECE, ME).
