Magadh University, the largest University of Bihar, was established on 01 March, 1962. Dr. Sarvapali Radha Krishnan, the former President of India laid the Foundation for this University. The University offers Post- Graduate courses in Humanities, Science, Commerce, and Management subjects, and Vocational courses in 29 Subjects. The University offers distant mode of Education system with various Diploma and Degree courses catering to the needs of students preferring distant education mode.

The University includes 44 constituent and 105 affiliated colleges under it. The University offers excellent quality of teaching in most attractive disciplines. The secular atmosphere and excellent teaching quality of this University attracts even foreign students. The university also offers nine hostels to offer secure hostel facilities to all its students.

The University regularly organizes State and National Level Seminars.
