Anna University was established in the year 1978. Mr. Surhit Singh Barnala is the Chancellor of the university and Dr. P. Manna Jawahar is the Vice Chancellor of the university. The university is located at Chennai with its campus spreaded in an area of 100 acres. Dr. S. Shanmugavel is the Registrar of the university. The university has the major objective of offering higher education in field of Engineering, Technology and Allied Sciences. It was established as an unitary type of university. Initially, the university was named as Perarignar Anna University of Technology.

Job Profile:

Applications are invited from eligible and qualified candidates for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in various departments of Anna University. The various departments in which the vacancies are available are Civil, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Physics, Instrumentation, Mining, Mathematics, Production, Architecture, Aerospace, Electronics, Computer Science & Engineering, Automobile, Electronics Communication & Engineering, Information Technology, English etc.

Eligibility:

Candidates should age in between the age limit set for the post of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in Anna University. Candidates should have age more than the prescribed minimum age limit but not more than the prescribed maximum age limit set for the posts.

Educational Qualification:

Ph.D. degree from recognized university is required for the post of Professor with an experience of 10 years in the teaching or research field. Master’s degree from any recognized university is the minimum educational qualification required for the posts of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. Candidates are also required to have an experience of 7 years and 3 years for the posts of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor respectively.

Pay Scale:

Professor: Rs. 37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 10000.
Associate Professor: Rs. 37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 9000.
Assistant Professor: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 7600.

Application Fee:

An application fee of the amount of Rs. 500 is required to be paid by the General and OBC category candidates. SC/ST candidates of Tamil Nadu are required to submit the application fee of Rs. 250 only. The application fee is need to be submitted through the means of a Demand Draft only.

Selection Process:

Selection of candidates will be done through the conduct of a competitive written examination followed by a personal interview test. Only qualified candidates of the written test will be allowed to appear in the personal interview test with the selection committee. The final decision over the selection of candidates will be made only after the successfull completion of both written test and interview test.
