Pondicherry University was established in the year 1985 under the Government of India. The university is a central university located at Pondicherry. Mr. Mohammed Hamid Ansari is the Chancellor of the university while Professor Jalees Ahmed Khan Tareen is the current Vice Chancellor of the university. There are approximatley 25 thousand students studying in the university. The university has a reural campus spreaded in an area of 780 acres. There are total 87 affiliated colleges. Pondicherry University is inviting applications in the prescribed format from eligible candidates for filling up the following faculty positions of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. The specified positions are available in various departments such as Department of Management Studies, Department of Mathematics, Department of Statistics, Department of Chemistry, Department of Food Science & technology, Department of Bioinformatics, Department of Banking Technology, Department of Earth Sciences, Department of Coastal Disaster Management etc.

1. Recruitment of Professor:
No. of posts: only 29 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess the required educational qualification as per the regulations or norms stipulated by the MHRD or UGC from time to time.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 10000.

2. Recruitment of Assosiate Professor:
No. of posts: only 34 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess the required educational qualification as per the regulations or norms stipulated by the MHRD or UGC from time to time.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 9000.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Professor:
No. of posts: only 41 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess the required educational qualification as per the regulations or norms stipulated by the MHRD or UGC from time to time.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000.

Application Fee:

An application fee of Rs. 500 is need to be submitted by General as well as OBC categories candidates. No application fee is required to be submitted by SC/ST/PH categories. The application fee of prescribed amount must be submitted through a demand draft drawn in favour of Finance Officer, Pondicherry University payable at Puducherry.

Selection Process:

The selection process for the above specified faculty positions includes only a personal interview test with the selection committee.
