Job profile: The professors will be responsible for imparting high quality medical education and training to the students. They will also be responsible for providing them with sufficient knowledge to face the challenging career ahead and assisting them with their project work, lab work, reports etc.

Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age of 50 years. However, relaxation can be claimed as per the rules.

Educational Qualifications: A candidate must possess the qualifications as included in the first or second schedule or in the part-II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act. A candidate must also have a post graduate degree of MD/MS. A candidate must have an experience of 14 years for a professor, 10 years for an addition professor, 6 years for an associate professor and 3 years for an assistant professor.

No. of posts: There are 51 posts in total which include 8 posts (4-GEN, 2-OBC and 2-SC) for professors, 8 posts (4-GEN, 2-SC and 2-ST) for additional professors, 16 posts (8-GEN, 5-OBC and 3-SC) for associate professors and 19 posts (10-GEN, 4-OBC, 4-SC and 1-ST) for assistant professors. These posts are distributed among various departments.

Pay scale: The pay scale for the professors, additional professors and associate professors is Rs37400-67000 with their grade pay being Rs10000, Rs8900 and Rs8700 respectively. The pay scale for the assistant professors is Rs15600-39100 plus a grade pay of Rs6600.

Selection process: The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their education and experience and then they will be called for an interview.
